In the photo: Siberian dwarf- pine fully defoliated by Siberian moth caterpillars. A great number of pest cocoons are seen on bare tree branches. Moths were hatched from them in July, mated and oviposited on trees still green. Counting cocoons with signs of Siberian moth parasites activity allows to predict a trend in pest density change.
