The Scientific Council D 003.056.01 on defending Postdoctoral and PhD theses has functioned at the V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forest since 1947. The 140 scientists defended their Postdoctoral theses from 1947 to 2003 and 340 PhD theses were defended from 1960 to 2003
